Things have been so ridiculous on Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. For those who haven’t known there’s too much water in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire that IGN scored these games a 7.8 on their review. With all the hype and with all the shenanigans, this has been the lowest score I have seen on a Pokemon game even if the way I see it, it is going to be the best Pokemon game ever. And it is not because there are faults in the game but because if we look at the positives of it such as gorgeous details and excellent postgame content and smart updates. Reading the review, it has a lot of nostalgic factors on the original Ruby and Sapphire. And it has a lot of things going on the game that make it pretty solid.
The reason why that it gets 7.8, or at least, the only discernible reason why such low score for these games is the “too much water”, that the reviewers did not like it. Additionally, the game also has a lot of HMs (secret moves) than its previous titles, something that can really piss a gamer off especially if you are using top tier 3DS Pokemon Omega Ruby Rom on your roster to traverse the region. Lastly, these games Ruby and Sapphire pretty much has the most water filled map amongst all Pokemon games and its story are largely involving water into it. Thus, the 7.8 because of too much water.
As far as I can remember, when the original games on Nintendo Gameboy got reviewed by IGN, those games got 9.5. With all the updates and the improvements from the original game, these remakes should at least get a 9 and I am not saying it because I am a Pokemon fan. If IGN want to do this fairly, the game has the same features but have done it better, then why 7.8? Remember we have much better hardware, we have 3D graphics, we have more postgame content more than ever and all those kind of stuff that the game has added from the original.
